The house has a passive solar design which helps keep the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Radiant floor heating provides a steady non-allergenic warmth in the winter, with five thermostat zones to allow for different needs in different parts of the house.
It sits atop one of the highest hills in the area, with soul-satisfying views over forest and field in all directions. The 140 acres encompass many habitats ... forest (pine, spruce, cedar, maple, ash, tamarack, and much more); wetland, riverside, and field. As a result, we provide shelter for many birds and a variety of wildlife (deer, fox, porcupines, racoons, rabbits and coyotes).
Words alone cannot convey the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere (take our virtual tour). Attention to detail has made this country home a harmonious and restful retreat for get-togethers of all kinds.
We enjoy art, colour, light and natural beauty and introduce as many of these features into the cottage as we can. Here are four examples that we hope will entertain and inspire you.
